Dyeing for you!

We have been thinking about the possibility of brighter colours in our range of workwear. Then we had the brilliant idea of seeing how well our white dungarees responded to home dyeing.

We have used Dylon machine dyes in the past - Sarah even re-coloured a whole sofa during lockdown.

So we bought a bright yellow and a bright orange from their range and got to work. The results were interesting.

Neither came out as bright as the colour suggested. We put this down to our workwear being made from 65% polyester and therefore less porous to the dye.

They both came out of the washing machine quite vibrant but as they dried out on the washing line the colour changed. The yellow became a pale lemon yellow. The orange became a light peach. Both quite subtle but showing what you can do if you wanted a change of colour.
